The 2010 Manulife Dragonboat Festival might sound like a strange venue for Nova Scotia's top snowboarders, but this year's event saw /next/ year's Canada Games snowboarding crew walk away with a trophy and some great team spirit.

Paddling into wind and rain down the World Championship course on Lake Banook in Dartmouth on July 10th, our crew of 20 plus a drummer were only beaten once head-to-head by the eventual winners of the event, a professional paddling team! Winning the B final placed us 6th out of 60 teams, only paddling teams finishing ahead of us. Winning becomes a habit. Dragonboat practices and all that gym work are finally paying off, and besides raising funds for the NSSA, this was our team's best finish in 3 attempts.
